Hej!
Welcome to the Secretly Swedish blog. This is where I'll be posting my latest pieces of work and doodles, as well as special offers and news regarding the Secretly Swedish store, HERE!
Here’s another trailer I recently finished for Titan Comics and their new Tank Girl series. It’s quite nice to be doing a bit more regular motion graphics work, as it breaks up the print based stuff I predominantly work on. Although it’s obviously not my forte, it’s nice to be learning some new software, and actually enjoying it. The music was supplied by the rather mysterious Ole King Cole.

I don’t normally post things like this, but it’s good to show that I actually design more than just apparel for bands and gig posters. I mean, most people don’t actually know this, but I spend most of my days working on various design projects for a spectrum of big magazine and comic book titles and licenses, I just don’t choose to showcase the bulk of that work as it’s a little less personal. Regardless of the fact that it might actually demonstrate that I’m a much more capable designer than the work on offer here would suggest ;)
Anyway, here are a few logos I’ve designed for various things over the last year. 1. The Line Of Best Fit - Music Website 2. Robot Elephant Records - Record Label 3. Ill Fit - Record Label and PR Company 4. New Pyramid - Record Label 5. Secretly Swedish - Graphic Design Company 6. Woodfire Records - Record Label 7. Lé Martells - Indie Band
I was recently asked to put together a trailer for Mark Millar’s (Kick-Ass, Wanted, Civil War) new magazine, CLiNT. It’s only my second time using After Effects, so I’m pretty happy with the final outcome. You can find out more about CLiNT here: http://twitter.com/clintmag
So here’s the final version of the gig poster for Jens Lekman’s London show at Union Chapel. A lot of creative comprimises were made in order for this to get the final thumbs up (if you saw the original design, you’ll understand what I’m talking about).
Anyway, it may not look like much, but this has been one of the most trying things I’ve ever produced, and at one point I was ready to walk away from it, as I felt like I was being asked to compromise too much, and removing a lot of my personal creativity from the piece. But on reflection, I’m still happy with the poster, I still love it, and I hope some of you do too.
This will be available as a 2 colour screen print from the gig, limited to 50 pieces, £15 each. I’ll even throw in a set of badges for anyone that wants one. Jens will also be signing them, should you want him to.
