So, if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll remember ages back I designed some Wes Anderson prints, based on some of my favourite quotes. The intention was to have these screen printed, but I’ve been pretty swamped with work, so they never materialised…
There’s still been a lot of interest regarding these prints, so I’ve come to the solution of selling a limited number of the prints over on Society 6. These are high quality Gicleé prints, so really nice things to have, and not your average digital print - THEY ARE GALLERY QUALITY!
For those still interested, you can pick them up here: http://www.society6.com/studio/secretlyswedish/store

So, I’ve been trying to get this shirt design printed for a while. It was initially designed for a band, but they went with another of my ideas. I put it up for scoring on Threadless, and it bombed. I’ve decided to give one last outlet a go, via All Tropical. If it fails to win there, I’ll just get it printed myself. If you like the design, please take the time to vote on it, today. There are only 24 hours left: http://ow.ly/4FwCB
**UPDATE - Thanks for the votes, people. But it came nowhere near close to winning. Such is life, eh? Will be printing it myself, so watch this space.**

I’ve been having a pretty manic few weeks with work. Having come out of hospital for a minor heart op (I’m fine, thanks for asking), I pretty much jumped straight back into things - working from my bed, in a very horizontal position. It was mistake, but I’ve had some pretty stupid freelance deadlines (mainly the fault of a certain Japanese, bow wearing cat) aside from my full time design job. I will be glad when this week is over, as the freelance stuff will finally be put to rest - aside from the few clients I like working with, and will always be willing to design for. My main focus has to be, and will be, my full time job at Whippet. Which, fortunately, I love.
Anyhoo, enough rambling. Here’s one of my recent logo projects, for which I’ve branded the super awesome Perergrine Proof. They a UK based proof reading company, who are worth making a note of. You shall be able to keep track of their escapades here: http://peregrineproof.tumblr.com

A few months back my good friend Hannah released her first (digital) EP, on Haircut Records. She plays (rather lovely and cute) ukulele infused Indie Pop, under the moniker Owl & Mouse.
I was really glad Hannah asked me to the art for the release, as it was quite a personal little project. Anyway, it’s been out for a while, and I realised I never actually posted the cover art, so here it is. The idea was to have Han dressed up in some kind of owl costume. Simple really.
I would also advice you to check out the EP. It’s really pretty great, and only £1! It’s a must for fans of Jeffrey Lewis, Darren Hanlon, Jens Lekman, Camera Obscura and Sambassadeur. Check it: http://owlandmouse.bandcamp.com

It’s my birthday in a few weeks, and given that we’re going to a club night called Everything Sucks, I decided to Milo myself for the event invites.

Some characters I’ve been working on this week, for a supermarket ice cream campaign. My Creative Director thinks ice cream with teeth is all sorts of wrong.

flapjacksblog asked: What is your favorite Cartoon Network show?
Well, I haven’t watched Cartoon Network for about 10 years. But back in the day, it was Dexter’s Lab. Awesome show!

Here’s poster 2 of 2, for Caspian and Native’s Spring tour…

Late last year, I was lucky enough to have Caspian come and stay with me, whilst they were on their European tour. They’re one of my favourite bands, so when they asked me to design a poster for their Spring tour, in the US, I was over the moon.
It’s been ages since I’ve worked on a gig poster, so it was awesome to work on this, especially for a band I respect so much. If you’ve never listened to Caspian, but like great atmospheric instrumental Rock (ala Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, The Album Leaf - most lazy references, sorry), you should check them out: http://www.caspianmusic.net
Here’s poster 1 of 2…

A while back I was lucky enough to work on a fun collaboration, with a bunch of other great illustrators. It was called ‘Monstrous Collab’, set up by Illustrator, Thomas Bates - AKA I Love Monsters (http://www.ilovemonsters.co.uk). Although I can’t show you the whole piece, with all the other contributions (essentially it’s a mountain with lots of awesome monsters on), here’s what I did. I guess it’s a cycloptic fauna. No surprises about that, I suppose, as cycloptic eyes feature a lot in my work.
I think the poster, with everyones work on it, is going to be released as a limited edition print, with the proceeds made from it going to charity. Not sure when that’ll be, but I’ll post something about that if and when it happens.
